This weekend I am really excited for friend’s wedding. However, if I was not attending the wedding, this is what I would be doing this Saturday. There are 2 websites that I really enjoy. www.bayareaonthecheap.com and www.sf.funcheap.com and recently this great wall calendar called What’s Happening that has all of the events happening in 2011 in Northern California. I recently saw it at David M. Brian for $13! Whoa.

Anyways, I was looking at these websites and there were some really fun FREE things going on. Here is what I found:

1. Crissy Fields Aviation History Walk:  Explore Crissy Field and learn about its role in early aviation history on this one-mile walk. Saturday, January 8, 2011 – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Cost: FREE* Crissy Field – Warming Hut Marine Dr. & Long Ave San Francisco, CA 94129 Reservations Required: (415) 561-4323 more details click here It’s an area rich in aviation history, where flying records were set, long-distance flights began and ended, and early, brave aviators in sketchy bi-winged planes charted territory high above the clouds for the first time. Meet docent Don Gray at the Warming Hut near the west end of Mason Street.

2.  Free North Beach Walking Tour & Pizza Tasting: Saturday January 8, 2010 2:00pm-Aside from the great food (if you know where to look), the Old Country lifestyle is also still evident in North Beach. Gianni (who stars in a series of gorgeous HD videos on authentic Italian cooking like this one for Pizza Margarita using items purchased in North Beach) will take you on a guided walking tour to the spots that make living in San Francisco so special for him. RSVP to get the start location for the tour. (Limited to 12 walkers.)
